Subscriber Learning Subscribers who are confident in their mastery of the flexmls system and its tools will be able to better serve their customers and clients. The ARMLS® curriculum is tailored to individual Subscriber technology needs. Classes target mastering flexmls® Web, developing basic computer competency, effectively utilizing social media and leveraging Subscriber expertise through technology tools. Training classes are offered as stand alone modules, most with no prerequisite. However, we recommend an education strategy in which the classes are attended in groups as shown below. Core Curriculum - Level 1

This module is an exploration of the many resources and tools available to help the Subscriber be more efficient, effective and successful.

In this module Subscribers will learn how to get fast, accurate results through learning 4 essentials of the Quick Search screen. Build skills in Techniques, Buttons and Hyperlinks; Adding Fields and Values to the Screen; Incorporating the Full Search Screen; Advantageous Ways of Searching Fields.

In this module Subscribers will learn to efficiently used the Saved Searches throughout the flexmls system in order to maximize time and avoid redundancy.

This module will show Subscribers how to obtain definitive search results using the mapping tools and techniques. Learn: How to Use the Tools Associated with the Map Screen, How to Draw Shapes and Customize Them, How to Save and Use a Polygon.

Core Curriculum - Level 2

Learn to use the flexmls system to easily store and access prospect/client data. This class will cover adding, editing and deleting clients, setting up your contact screen, reverse prospecting, creating groups and using the Dashboard to access and view contact information.

Use all the resources in flexmls to quickly and easily communicate with your clients as well as Agents. This class will focus on the areas of auto-email, manual email and messages. Prerequisite: Have a contact created in Contact Management and a Saved Search.

Take the confusion and mystery out of Portals and open a window of communication between Subscriber and prospects. Learn how to set up a Portal, set default preferences, operate the Portal features and much more. Prerequisite: Have a contact created in Contact Management and a Saved Search.

Customize flexmls to meet your specific business needs. Learn how to organize and prioritize your flexmls world by creating unique views, sorts, Quick Search templates and Dashboards. It is suggested that you attend the Quick Search - 4 Great Results class prior to attending this class.

Gain the know-how needed to include comparable properties into the CMA presentation and create a finished report to provide to the Seller. Benefit from suggestions on tools and techniques to use on the screens in the Full CMA function to produce a final report that is a cut above.

The Listings part of the database is where the rubber meets the road. Learn the mechanics, rules and best practices to be sure that listings are in compliance and display information that will be searched and found. This module is a must for those working with Buyers. To enhance your searches and results obtained, learn what are required and optional fields.

Once a listing is assigned an MLS #, there are many more options available to promote it. In this module, learn the rules and techniques for changing the status of a listing, uploading media and documents, methods for proofing your listing entry and much more.

Diverse Needs flexmls Classes

ARMLS Rules class covers the latest rule changes. Learn where to locate the rules, what the most common violations are, the penalty policy and the appeals process. Throughout the class learn why data integrity is so important. Question and answer time is also included. Prerequisites: Attendees MUST have a working User ID and password for class.

This 5 hour workshop is for ADVANCED flexmls® Web users.
During this fast-paced, hands-on workshop, distressed properties will be covered in extensive detail: how to find and access them easily through targeted templates, how to utilize farming techniques and the distribution of these properties to investors/clients. Other related topics covered will include: creating mailing labels, linking distressed properties to market statistics, and creating custom reports. Prerequisites: A strong working knowledge of Quick Searches and Mapping will be necessary to move through the course. Additionally, a strong working knowledge of Realist is required for this class.

Searches are explained in detail with hands-on exercises and emphasis on the mapping tools. Subscribers will discuss and complete a portion of the Fannie Mae 1004MC report using a Statistical CMA. Subscribers will search the MLS on their smartphone and learn how to access an AVM through the RPR website. Prerequisites: Attendees MUST have a working User ID and password for class. A former flexmls class is not required. Access to a smartphone is preferred, but not required.

The flexmls Tips and Tricks class is designed for those who have completed the Core Classes and would like to learn additional Tips and Tricks. Topics include information from the Searches, Listings, Contacts, and Mapping classes. This class will provide time saving techniques and help Subscribers become more efficient with the MLS.

In this hands-on class, Subscribers will have an opportunity to learn about Facebook business pages and will create their own page. In addition, attendees will be given suggestions on building a fan base, how to engage an audience and learn how to create a Facebook ad. Prerequisite: A basic knowledge of Facebook

In the Facebook Essentials 1 class, Subscribers will obtain an overview of the Facebook personal account. The focus will be on creating an account, setting up the profile and learning about the privacy settings.

In this hands-on class, Subscribers will build their knowledge on a variety of Facebook terms and processes. These topics include, but are not limited to: instant messaging, lists, adding friends, adding photos, links and applications.

In this hands-on class the Subscriber will get the basics of Twitter. During this two hour class, the Subscriber will create a Twitter account, set up privacy settings, learn basic Twitter lingo and find people and companies to follow.

Computer Skills - Development and Enhancements

This is a 90 minute class and is the second installment of our Computer Basics series focusing on options available after opening up the Internet Explorer browser. Items within the Windows menu bar will be explored in depth: adding new windows and tabs, creating favorites, and setting up a home page. Security issues such as phishing, viruses and identifying when a website is secure will be discussed. By the end of this class the Subscriber will be able to identify which version of IE is being used as well as understand where commands on the Windows bar are located.
Prerequisites: This class is intended for the intermediate user with a working understanding of computers and navigating the Internet. Previous attendance in the Computer Basics : The Desktop class is not required but highly recommended.

The Desktop is a 90 minute class designed for the computer novice seeking to learn the basics. It is currently only offered in an MS Windows environment and will cover basic Windows desktop navigation: adding, moving and deleting files, creating desktop icons and shortcuts, and accessing important items such as photos and printers within the Start Menu. This class will also answer common questions such as, “What is an operating system?” and cover some additional tips and tricks to make your life with the computer a little easier and more productive.

Excel 2007 Essentials 1 is designed to introduce basic tools to the beginner Excel user. In this hands-on class, Subscribers will learn time-saving tips, techniques and strategies. Common Excel shortcuts, formatting and sum functions will be covered. Increase your knowledge of Excel 2007 and maximize your effectiveness in the business world.

Excel 2007 Essentials 2 is a continuation of our first class, Excel 2007 Essentials 1. In this hands-on class, Subscribers will build upon the techniques learned in the first class. Class content includes moving data from flexmls into professional looking spreadsheets, viewing and sorting large amounts of data as well as creating tables and charts. Prerequisite: Excel 2007 Essentials #1

This hands-on class is for Subscribers who wish to gain a basic knowledge of creating flyers for their real estate business using Microsoft Office Word 2007. Students will learn how to create, edit and save documents for printing and emailing. Also covered will be the basic Word 2007 User interface (the Office Button and Quick Access Toolbar) adding text, graphics, tables and formatting. No previous experience in Microsoft Word is required.

In this class Subscribers will learn how to log in and integrate flexmls property data with Cloud CMA, customize the CMA, property and Buyer reports. Subscribers will also learn how to use Cloud CMA to generate Buyer tours, automatically create QR codes and reports via email.

The class will also teach how to market listings through Realty Connect, using text messages, QR codes, and an Agent branded mobile IDX site.

This class teaches Subscribers how to use the rbi system, including interactive charts at the Region, City and ZIP Code levels. It also demonstrates how to access historical charts on closed sales, new pendings, active listings and other market metrics, such as median and average sold prices. The class will differentiate between the features in rbiINTEL, the basic version available free to all ARMLS Subscribers, and rbiEXPERT, the upgrade service available for a fee for Subscribers with a more robust appetite for statistical data. RPR™ Basics is designed to give the Subscriber an overview of the Realtors Property Resource, LLC website. This class covers the major areas of comprehensive property history, valuation and pricing, market activity reports, Seller’s reports, neighborhood information and tools to refine the value of a property. The curriculum will concentrate on giving Subscribers real world benefits of the RPR website.
